So that’s to say 8 axle operators are dumber than 9 axle plus? (I know that’s not what you’re saying by the way) why not let some states limit themselves to 72,000 instead of 80? We can charge more if we’re going to a 72,000 pound state. My biggest reason is as i stated, I look at the people in my line of work in those states, it would make their life easier like it did mine when Ohio changed. People are acting like this will eliminate the need for a multi axle trailer, it won’t. It might even drive up those rates because the things that need to ship that way will command an even bigger premium because there will be fewer of them. There’s also states like Arizona that you can’t even fully utilize an 11 axle that you could when this passes.cke, 4mer trucker, Feedman and 19 others Thank this.

There is a need for uniform weight and axle spacings. It’s not going to make any difference in competition. The ones that will drive the rates down are already doing #### they shouldn’t. I’m not saying go to one extreme or the other. I don’t think using a state with a 69k on a tri makes better sense than a 54,500 state. I think 20k per axles is fine. I also think they should self issue up to 200k and there needs to be some sort of uniform to the permit cost. A lot of you guys don’t do heavy work and don’t understand how much of a cluster some of these states areblairandgretchen, cke, 4mer trucker and 14 others Thank this.

When you argue with a idiot you have just lowered your self to his intelligence level. Not his fault at that point.cke, 4mer trucker, Feedman and 14 others Thank this. -

There is something that gets under my skin. If someone comes up to me specifically, and asks for help, and I take the time to help, and they don’t listen, I am pissed off.
Had a young driver ask for help. I help him. He calls me while running in a convoy with some others pulling OSOW. I can hear them chattering on the cb. They’re talking about not making a metro curfew. Big discussion. I asked about the curfew area on the permit and this driver tells me that he is following the leader.
I AM PISSED.
You didn’t read your permit.
“But Six, he’s ex-heavy haul. He’s been doing this longer than I been alive.”
Do you have your provision sheet?
“What is a provision sheet?”

Any of you guys pulling OSOW, and you move without reading a permit, don’t ever speak to me. I won’t be nice.blairandgretchen, beastr123, cke and 18 others Thank this.

It’s coming from what I hear like it or not. There’s very little opposition to it from the trucking world. There’s a minority that it will mildly affect and they’re opposed, there’s nothing wrong with being concerned with themselves but that’s not a compelling argument against it.blairandgretchen, cke, 4mer trucker and 15 others Thank this.

I agree, we had this discussion at work Friday. The new guys is one of the “eh it’s good enough it’s not going anywhere” kind of guys. He’s been doing this work since May. He already thinks he knows everything, I’m his peer so I don’t say anything because it’s not my job to say anything and he gets PO’d if I do. It drives me nuts when someone doesn’t take their vocation seriously. I think it was Martin Luther King that said if your job is being a street sweeper be the best street sweeper you can be.blairandgretchen, Al. Roper, beastr123 and 24 others Thank this.
