Thinking of adding a ground wire to my mount. It's in the factory mounting spot I just had to bend up a piece to use there since mine didnt come with one. I've got almost all of the issues worked out of this truck at this point.

 

What about a "top, lead" driver that relies on his front pilot to read his permits and make sure he's on route and compliant with all restrictions? Will you talk nice to him?

 

Here's the new mount. Bolted to the factory mount location. Factory my have a ground strap installed there.

 

That's funny. I was just telling my son this morning on the way to church I'm going to teach him how to read a map. Of course he told me he already knows how, lol.

 

Rice is a no no. So are certain beans and potatoes. And I loved rice and refried beans.

 

That would be a good start. There should never be that much of a change from 1 to 40 unless there is a ground issue. Try keying the mic watching the swr meter and move the antenna by hand, if it changes a lot it’s losing ground. What type antenna?

 

Rice is a definite no, basically pure starch that converts to sugar.
