There is always a pick up in freight at this time of year. So even though we have a bad economy, it should be (marginally) better than it was last month.

I'm hoping the stimulus bill will provide some work but it won't happen overnight . Construction doesn't just start up . Engineering has to draw up plans , bids have to be made and awarded and in some cases property bought for widened right of way . It'll be a year before some actual work starts .

my miles have been fairly decent since the 1st of the year

Miles have picked up considerably with Central refrigerated.

Well this is finally some good news!

Sadly that is true. I have my ear to the ground waiting to hear when the quarry I worked for gets going again, hope soon rather then later.
I have noticed a little bump in the right direction. -
I wouldn't hold my breath on that Rick! You don't actually think that's going to STIMULATE any truck driver do you? That's a SPENDING bill. Everything that Democrats have had in their desks for decades in in that thing. I call it "PULLED PORK". That won't help us at all!!
allnite Thanks this. -
It won't help students that don't get hired if that's what you mean by "us" and it won't help the van fleets either but flatbedders and rockhaulers will get work hauling materials . Expediters get more work when companies like Caterpillar and John Deere rush parts for construction equipment break down .

Didn't mean to offend you Rick! Your not a Democrat are u?? The point is that money is never going to make it to any CONSTRUCTION projects at all. You don't actually have that much faith in Obama do you? I'm pre-hire 3 places now Rickster so don't worry about me. Just trying to figure out the BEST one to go with. GL
