Its really easy to turn in the keys with a smile, when you already have a differnt set in your pocket.

 

I'm pretty sure FFE has a sign on bonus for CDL holders. 5000 I think?

Team drivers average 0-1 year experience avg 1500 wk there.

I don't know what already experienced guys make. Recently got a half penny per mile raise.

The solo guys I talk to in linehaul seem to average about 800 wk. It's easy drop/hook driving between terminals.

With a year exp. Now I dont think i could go solo there and lose that much pay.

 

Not having that problem over in Carlsbad right now. We have been crazy busy hauling crude. I run my 14 out nearly every day.

 

6-8 months ago I was mad at my last company for making me sit too long. So I went to Craigslist and browsed the transportation jobs section just to pass time. I found a ad I liked. 2 months later I started there.

So look on your local Craigslist. You can find good OTR jobs.

 

Two months??? That’s had to be one of the most in depth background checks ever. Vaccinations, checking to see if you had been neutered or spayed, feline Aids and leukemia testing, etc.

 

I could put 16 drivers to work right now and that would be begging for something more than a 24 hour reset

 

Detailed blood tests for VD take time.. Best to check for that stuff before you get into bed with someone.

 

And to make sure he wouldn't be stopping for a cat nap every half an hour

 

Cough test to get rid of hair balls was the top priority.

 

stick around till summer , 6 months exp is much better
