Had his whole life in front of him, it's really sad. Spoke to my wife about him today. I lost a good friend in Texas last year on his scooter.

Hate to hear that.
Just to give you a heads up they are talking a ground blizzard starting around 3 tomorrow through the evening. I think if you get going early enough you should stay ahead of that front.Tug Toy, PoleCrusher, Feedman and 21 others Thank this. -
My Pop had an older flat top. I learned all my curse words going thru NYC in that truck back in the late 70's.
I'm 6'5" and I barely fit now...I'd imagine you'd hate it!Tug Toy, PoleCrusher, Feedman and 21 others Thank this. -
Fun fact! Arkansas DOT aren't a division of the Arkansas state police. DOT while being a law enforcement agency is actually under the highway department.
As you two are the only ones I know that run US and Canada I'm curious. What are the log rules you go by? How much do they differ from one another and how does it work crossing the border and going from one system to the other? Do you run log books for both rules or what?Tug Toy, 1951 ford, PoleCrusher and 12 others Thank this. -
I know its tight in the drivers seat but I'm really curious how it is in the sleeper with the added height. If argosy weren't butt ugly I think itd be the cabover for me since it's a flat floorTug Toy, 1951 ford, PoleCrusher and 11 others Thank this.

I run us hours with the exception of making sure my resets are 36 hours and I have one within the previous 14 days.
Crossing is fairly straight forward but if you are the carrier it takes some initial ground work which is best explained offline.
It is a lot easier then it was 15 years ago.Tug Toy, 1951 ford, PoleCrusher and 15 others Thank this. -
Elogs or paper, you run the rules of the country you are in. Moving US to Canada gives you a lot of flexibility, vice versa and it closes some doors.
13 driving hours, 14 work hours, 16 day hours (2 hours off duty must be in 30 minute or larger blocks to count), sleeper can be 8 hours long if 2 hours off duty is used, and from what I've been discovering, first day in Canada, whether coming back over the border, or first day starting trip, you get a "freebie" 8 hour sleeper the first night.
Edit: Hit "post" by accident.
36 hours off duty for reset, so if you are coming INTO Canada, make sure you get 36 hours off on your last reset, or you'll be screwed. Can't drive more than 14 days in a row without at least 24 hours off. Recaps kick in on day 8 rather than day 9.
It's a better system almost across the board, but still lacks flexibility.Tug Toy, 1951 ford, PoleCrusher and 16 others Thank this.
