    Think what he is talking about is headed home, or close to home, (mostly?). I get it and fully understand. Who wants to take a 10 layover when almost home? I sure don't. One can get a nice shower at home and sleep in the home bed, thats the idea. Thats the problem with these crazy rules. I do what i need to do. Its a new way now. No i really dont want to work more than 14, or possibly drive more than 11. Trucking isn't always a perfect science though.

    Okay. If you ran out of hours 9 hours or 2 days from home, that’s sounds like bad planning and load acceptance and that’s on you and/or your people

    If you ran out of hours 2 hours from home that sucks but take the violation, go home, and be done with it. Note it in the elogs that you had to see the football game or it snowed real hard and you’re set

    @Lonewolf2000

    The question has been asked before in this thread, but you haven't yet answered it:

    Aren't you able to use personal conveyance? If yes, then why all the fuss about driving with an unplugged ELD? Just use PC to get home. If your company doesn't give you the PC option, find a better company.

    First, I did not call you a troll. I was speaking to what I (thought) was you referring to other trollish behavior. Yes, there might be a thousand experienced drivers on these boards. The thing is I don't know them and have not had private conversations with them. Those guys that I mentioned are people I actually know. Other than that I can't vouch for anybody. I will say this, however. I will not call any names, however, based on some comments I have a serious doubt some of the commenters here even hold a CDL. That is just something I have noticed. I don't call them out because I don't believe I should.

    Maybe I should not have made that post. However, you quoted me and even though I was not feeling well at all I showed the courtesy of a reply. If I did not use the correct wording, my bad I am sorry!

    If you run out of hours an hour from home then either leave the truck there and go get it in a week when you’re done with hometime, or take a ten hour break and start your hometime tomorrow. Rules are made to be broken, but if someone runs into your truck and dies, you’re the one who is going to jail for possibly vehicular manslaughter, etc. if you were following the hos rules, the truck would not have been there to be ran into. Yes it sucks to shut down so close to home, but I’d rather do that than sit in a jail cell and visit loved ones thru a glass wall. Just my opinion.

    I do it all the time. You just have to know how to do it the right way. And I had to inspections done including checking elds.tge only problem software is expensive but way cheaper than buying an old truck

    You’ll probably get plenty of home time in your new cell with Bubba.
