Yup. I won't drive 1 inch over the Georgia line unless I have a load lined up sending me back up north. And god forbid that load cancels, cuz I'll be stuck in the south for days. Yuck.

    I
I'm in Wisconsin. I would love to be 'stuck' in the South for days right now.

50 degrees sounds so good right now. Here it is 20 with heavy snow and will be negative degrees for most of the next two weeks not counting the wind chill.

By "stuck" I meant the freight sucks and runs going north are tough to get last minute.

I'm sitting at the Plane View Travel Center in Oshkosh with a load that delivers in Neenah in the morning. Looks like they got a pretty good snow up here while I was driving through the rain in Indiana this morning. Hope my load out of here keeps me up north, though. I'd rather deal with snow than deal with the south right now.

    Steelersjunkie Thanks this.

Here's a PSA for you guys and gals in Millisland. I just got my membership to OOIDA. If you tell them you were referred to them by another trucker who is a member, they take $5 off your first year. So you'll pay $35 for your first year, then $40 every year after that. They have a massive array of services that they offer. No trucker should be without it.

If anyone will be around, I'm targeting the TA in Seymour Indiana tomorrow night for my shutdown. Holler at me if it works for ya.

    Yeah, same question about OOIDA.

And on the automatic situation. Yeah, I figure automatic would be the best way to start anyway (that's what I did for driving a car and then picked up stick once I could focus more on that rather than just keeping the car on the road, haha).

    Steelersjunkie and StyxxNC Thank this.
