This happened 20 years ago. I'm the white truck in the middle. I was passing a JB Hunt when the fog came out of nowhere and brought the visibility down to near zero. JB and I immediately slowed it down and was able to stop before we reached the carnage in front of us. As we were stopped we could hear the carnage building up behind us from vehicles that did not slow down for the conditions. Been there, done that.
Obviously, these pictures were taken during the cleanup.

I can't dispute a thing you said. Still, I dont care if he plowed through police or hippies on mopeds, it happened because he couldn't see. If he couldn't see he was driving too fast.
It's hard to tell from video sometimes. To me it looks like it was time to cut the music down and pucker the butt up the second he saw the cop with lights on.
There is a famous video on I 80, I think, that we have all seen. It's fascinating when you see who was driving to fast for conditions and who wasn't.
Doesn't matter who caused it. The goal is to never hit anything.

That looked like I-90 off Chicago a couple days ago. I can't believe you pay to go on that road and they don't plow it.

    When driving in these conditions....

Rule 1...anyone driving faster than you is a maniac

Rule 2...anyone driving slower than you is a moron.

you said "it will be my fault untill proven otherwise", isnt that stating the obvious in most cases?, my point was that in my case the heat wasnt on me from the get go, and it wasnt my fault untill i had to prove otherwise, which is why i responded, so in my case what you said wasnt true because its not always the case.
