Where does it say witnesses are required to stop ? Suppose somebody is rubbernecking and hits your truck ? Guess who will be liable ? Too many "witnesses " pulling over just create a bigger hazard . If there is a life threatening situation and you are first on the scene that's a different story . That's a judgement call .

I worked for this company in 2004.The worst time of my life, and no one should ever work there. They rec me for 11 west, and endend up cali, oreg, and wash. They put me in a cab over with no jacks, and gave me anh bush up and down I-5.They could'nt understand why I was upset when I could'nt drive more than 350 to 400 miles a day(35mph).1000 miles a week in 2004!The last straw was when I sat in tracy for 2 days, and when I finally got a load in livermore 4 drivers showed up for the same load.I was broke, and made it my mission to tell everyone not to work for them.SAVE YOURSELVES!!:biggrin_25510:

Yea I hear ya, I was supposed to be SE regional but for some reason I was in Chicago and NY 95% of the time, going 3-400 miles a day tops always having to slow down at tolls and always in hella traffic going 5-30 mph, just wanting to run everybody infront of me off the road so I can get to where I need to go and hopefully have a load waiting for me that will get me out of the God forsaken NE.

A few years back when I was a driver, I had a JB Hunt recruiter calling me once every other month for about 2 years(I had submitted an online application in the middle of our slow season just for chits and giggles). Super nice guy. I told him I was fairly happy working local for a grand a week and I needed at least $1500 a week before I would consider ever going OTR. He said that was do-able. Was he lying?

only if you worked 6days a week and maybe 4 12hr days....otherwise the only other way was to be a pucker to the planner and if they liked you it was do able....but im betting he made it sound like it was no problem and that you would make that your 1st yr.....i made 51k my first yr and i worked 6 days a week to get it....i showed whoever that not by puckering but by hardwork you can make good money....however, jbhunt is not a company who cares about whether or not they ruin your dac so you cant drive for the competition after you drive for them....they get all butt hurt and disgruntled and they will lie to dac about you because they know how much red tape you have to go thru to dispute it.

Don, your career is NOT over. I was in a worse accident ($5,000 damage) and have since worked with several top name companies. JB tried to do the same thing with DAC. All you have to do is file a correction (look for it at the USIS site). In my case there was an option where you file a challenge and JB has to come back and present documents that prove their damaging entry is correct. Well guess what, JB never filed so USIS had to remove the entry. Go through the appeal process with USIS and JB will have to remove the bs from your DAC. Believe me, your career is not over.

i appreciate the reply...yah im doing exactly that...i sent for my DAC and also mailed out the dispute form....everything is drag ##### with them though....its kinda difficult because the uncertainty of all of this is taking its toll on me and my family and my financial problems get worse as we speak. i filed for unemployment the day i was terminated and i have also been looking for a job to no avail. once they read "violation of company policy" on my DAC i become labeled as some rogue driver. my unemploy bennies have not been approved yet because the interview wont take place until 04/02...thats 1month w/o income so far. hell i dont even know if California is going to side with them or me. as it stands now i am temporarily blackballed from the industry.

Companies are being so nit picky nowadays because of all the unemployed people they are pushing thru schools to replace people for n e reason to pay them less. The company i work for now has 82 trucks and i couldnt love it more. i would avoid n e of the bigger ones like the plague unless they have a sweet local job if that isnt a double negative in itself.

Don't quote me on this, but if you actually see an accident happen by rule you are supposed to stop, wether thats true or not don't know, but its only right to do so incase somebody is hurt, I know if it was my kid laying in a ditch some where, I would be pretty torqued if somebody, especially a trucker did not stop to get him some help.
