@Coolbreeze I am considering Highway out of Laporte for regional work since they pay the same for empty & loaded. What's your overall feel for the company vs the company you left. Anything that you don't like?

I don’t have much info on the regional work in La Porte. I know they stay busy, and they do alot for DOW Chemical. The mileage pay is on a sliding scale. The shorter the run, the more per mile it pays. I’ve haven’t been employed long enough to have any dislikes. Except that 65mph is to slow. I do like it better than Superior Carries.

I hear this alot about Superior. I load at their Sparta, NJ yard frequently and hear it from even non-drivers. There always seems to be a problem over there for whatever reason but it always ends in somebody saying that the company has gotten too big

I think Superior is just over credited from the beginning. It’s a decent company but no where near great. I left made what I made in 12 months with superior in 9 months with my next company and had all my holidays off and sleep in my bed every night.

It depends what terminal you work out of. Superior by far is the most flexible company I’ve ever worked for, a lot of the great companies are so micro managed that if you sneeze while driving, somebody from safety is calling to check on you.

Superior was decently flexible but if you think that’s flexible you’ll be shocked to see what’s it’s like on the ltl side. I just be wondering who are some of these people you choose to work for. And why do you choose to work for them there are many employers out there they are going to at least be fair and not anal like everyone complains about them. The fact that people still choose to work under conditions that aren’t desirable is just crazy.

I know somebody who drives for fed-ex he is home every weekend, makes between 90 and 100k per year he seems pretty happy with them, also have an uncle who drives for Walmart, works one week on and one week off and still makes between 70 to 80k per year, so there are some good companies out here you just have to find them. I just love tankers to much to do anything else
