I used alcohol in my tanks when its below 20. Company policy. Plus having an APU, thankfully, I haven t had a battery or fuel issue this winter

The Alky in the Air Lines i use to do the same thing. I also never set the trailer brakes just the tractor especially if you have been driving on wet salted roads with it being that cold the trailer brakes would freeze up and then it was time to get the torch and hammer out..

Some mechanics have said that the alcohol in airlines is a bad idea.....as it tears stuff up....? I will still do it ......I mean, its not like its so frequently done that its gonna cause too much of an issue.....and, if My lines are frozen , and if Ive routinely drained air tanks they SHOULDNT be.......I WILL get them UN frozen using whatever means necessary........within reason.....i.e no Sulphuric acid etc......lol

When I was a driver mgr I had to go rescue a driver stuck in a Foleys dock at the mall in Aurora Colorado once.......i used a road flare on the drum......it wasnt the problem though........it ended up being his airlines- just hooked the red from tractor ( filled with alky) to the blue on trlr .......and opended it up.....had everyone stand clear......shoppers / pedestrians......lol
