Back on the Rail with JB Hunt

Darn! They closed truck parking at casino in Muskogee without warning. What a shame. The casino was no good but there was always parking and I was counting on it last night.

 

Had 60 day review and they are happy with performance. I'm getting better than average miles but not so much on accessorial pay. That makes no sense. I whine about everything.

I got stuck with a trailer so full of nails I was pulling them up for an hour and a half. I got really sore hands and $35. That seems low for my misery. I wanted $1 a nail.

 

Nah. If that had been me there would have been 3 more reefers and an unwashed cattle trailer next to me.

 

Real frustration with speed limiter. Most big company's are limiting at 65. So if everyone is going the same speed, no problem. Right?

It happens all the time but it happened twice to the extreme yesterday....I was becoming homicidal. I let merging driver on by moving to left and because I'm on cruise I can go 3 mph faster (big deal) but numb nuts doesn't want to let me back in and there is a long string of traffic behind him so I can't just slow down and pull in behind. Plus..he's a little heavier than I am so he slows uphill but not enough to get ahead of him and he speeds up on downhill and .... There we are.

After what seemed like an eternity (to me and the thousands of cars behind us) I finally brake to 55 turn on signal for lane change and wait for subsequent morons to stop passing me on the right.

Stupid megas have to limit because if left unchecked those same drivers would be blowing the doors off everyone until they landed upside down in a ditch.
