Thanks guys! I decided to keep looking. I had a buddy named Mark that worked for the same one I applied at, and he said the turnover rate was ridiculous. He said that’s why they have such a high demand for drivers. He said their policies were ridiculous, front facing cameras, which if they catch you eating, drinking, phone use, etc... It’s an immediate write up! He said they did pay decent and that you had good co workers trying to make a living, but management killed it.

@Molonl4beNC you can always try for LTL, linehaul makes really good money and all you do is transport freight from terminal to terminal.

WM is a reasonably decent company. The pay can be different depending on locations. Some pay hourly, other by the haul or load weight. Just depends.
Benefits are good and the usual corporate stuff. Used to be about $55.00 a week for full medical for two adults.

Roll off has seasonal swings, winter will slow down quite a bit. April to September are the busy months, mostly related to construction picking up.

They have in cab camera systems and GPS tracking in most trucks. If you sit too long with the engine running, you will get a call from dispatch. If you run the engine when you on breaks, you will get a call from dispatch. If the cameras record or live feed you drinking, eating, talking on the phone or a number of other things while the truck is moving, you will be talking to safety and management. They do provide uniforms, you are required to wear only the items they supply. If it is not approved, you will be talking to management.

Should you get stuck in a mud hole at a location and need a winch out. It is considered an incident. That includes job sites. If for any reason any tire is off the ground, that is a roll over. Roll overs are immediate termination.

WM has the highest turnover rate in the business.

I applied for a flatbed job. They called. The lady said it was 15 an hour. I hung up.
