Sorry man I just now saw this. My first thought is the cam sensor. It’s right behind the compressor/accessory drive, kinda between it and the oil pump. Has a 4-wire plug. Might have worked that plug loose while messin with the compressor.
Also check the oil sensor on the oil pump.
Neither one of these explain why it won’t run on ether, but if it just died going down the road and they just changed the compressor, that’s where I’d start.
Keep me posted. I’m interested.
Edit to add, make sure there’s power going to the fuel solenoid on the fuel pump, which is bolted to the compressor. That little ring connector may not have gotten tightened down good.
Where is everyone #5

Cam gear runs off the crank gear. Accessory drive gear runs off the cam gear. The compressor is bolted to the back of the accessory drive, mated with a splined coupler, and the fuel pump is bolted to the back of the compressor. So they shouldn’t have removed the accessory drive or messed with any gears.
Cam has to be spinning or the thing wouldn’t turn over. Should run on ether, if he’s doin it right.
Just about has to be electrical. I reckon it’s possible they didn’t get one of the fuel lines tight on the suction side and it got a gulp of air, but not likely.Feedman, PoleCrusher, Slowpoke KW and 19 others Thank this. -
Yeah it makes a sense, I’m guessing the 9370 dash was closer to the 4300’s? My 98 9400 and my 95 9200 were like Tugs.Feedman, PoleCrusher, Slowpoke KW and 14 others Thank this.

Well crap why did they build an International then?
PoleCrusher, Slowpoke KW, Zeviander and 15 others Thank this. -
The HX international is the replacement for the 5900. That is the vocational version of the 9900. They quit making the 5900 a few years back. I’m pretty sure you can still buy a 9900. The hx is only available as a day cab of with the 51” sleeper. They are nice, and I would strongly consider buying one.
