You can bypass by removing the large hose with a fitting and screwing it onto the other large hose. Im brainfarting on what hoses they are sorry. But its the two main I believe they are 1/2 inch hoses.

On your 2014 truck w/ DD15, it would be unwise to route around the air drier. Since 2007 I haven’t seen where Freightliner has installed the AD-9 air drier. Your drier more than likely has the Governor bolted to the side of it. If you bypass the air drier you’ll bypass the Governor and the compressor will continue to pump until either your relief valve pops, or the head of the compressor removes itself!!

If you didn’t find a blown brake chamber, More than likely your air governor stuck, didn’t re-engage the compressor and your air suspension dropped your tank pressure.

Well, I was able to replace the air dryer. Mine wasn’t difficult. Three airlines, one cable, and three mounting bolts. One of the bolts was seized up good. I broke it in half trying to remove it. I suppose I should have let the penetrant oil sitting overnight. I think the holes for the mounting bolts need redesigning to prevent them from seizing.

I noticed there was a lot of black gunk inside the 90% angle airline hose adapter connecting a thick airline hose to the air dryer. It seems like oil is getting into an airline and traveling down to the air dryer.

Depending on how much oil, you might need an air compressor. Wabco makes an air drier cartridge with an oil absorbent layer. As long as you can keep the oil from getting past the air drier it so won’t effect any of your other systems. You maybe able to get by without the compressor change for a while.
