No Sir, I got to working on my own mule and didn’t get up there. I will be today sometime though. I did talk to him on the phone briefly, said he ordered a new oil pump for it. Last time I was up there he had the oil pump off and disassembled. I glanced at it but had things on my mind........ the engine loosing pressure and showing lost pressure on a mechanical gauge, as well as the shutdown system has me curious.
Where is everyone #5

That's great news! Congratulations to her and her proud dad.7-UP, Slowpoke KW, Tug Toy and 13 others Thank this.

That's what she said...
Oh... you're talking about something else entirely, nevermind.Feedman, 7-UP, BigCam9670 and 21 others Thank this. -
What’s her can size?Feedman, 7-UP, Slowpoke KW and 15 others Thank this.

If it’s an actual total loss of oil pressure, not just a false gauge reading, I’d think it would have to be the pump. I would think a bad bearing or piston squirter would reduce oil pressure, but not take it plum to zero.Al. Roper, Feedman, Slowpoke KW and 16 others Thank this.

@superhauler did your buddy get his N14 problems figured out?
Al. Roper, Slowpoke KW, Tug Toy and 15 others Thank this. -
Haven't heard anything yet.Slowpoke KW, Tug Toy, MagnumaMoose and 12 others Thank this.

Well I don't know but that's what 36" of surface area looks like, or supposed to anyhow?
Not being an expert physicist/mechanic all I can do is go by the information given.Feedman, Slowpoke KW, Tug Toy and 17 others Thank this. -
Yes I run (ran) a turbo blanket and have the first 4 ft of pipe wrapped. Hot exhaust is less dense than cooler exhaust. Flows eaiser engine works less to push exhaust out. But you have to be careful I had to replace my exhaust turbo housing from mutiple heat cracks. It could of been a casting flaw or the blanket just held to much heat in the housing. Borg warner turbos are known for the exhaust housings developing cracks. I would at least wrap the first 3 or 4 ft of pipe.Al. Roper, Feedman, Slowpoke KW and 16 others Thank this.

Exactly.... what puzzles me is this, next morning it fired up when it was cold with no issues. About 3 miles down the road he said it went to 0 pressure and the engine shutdown again. I ask if he had wires or an oil feed line to the gauge, he confirmed oil line. Said he took line loose from gauge and it barely dribbled with engine running. I have a gut feeling it’s inside the pump.
