Had a lady friend in High school that her father didnt much like me, And I didnt like him much. The girl moved away years ago with daddys help, and gets money when ever she needs it. Two divorces and two kids still being supported by dad. Funny thing is me and her dad are friends, talk to one and another, see eachother. The guy is big time into classic cars this is most of the convo. He don't bring up his daughter. He has only ever made small comments about wishing she would get her stuff together. He knows me well 20 years later.Al. Roper, 1951 ford, Slowpoke KW and 21 others Thank this. -

I know this now, I didn't then. In never got to respond yet to a earlier post. Six I was never invited to the mens table as you say. I was raised at it. Growing up with my dad and his trucking buddy, uncles I was already there. I worked a full time job in a shop at 17 till 1 am. Drive home 38miles and go to school in the Am. Why because knew at a young age I wanted stuff and only way to get it was by my work. At 21 I was a shop forman, 26 Shop Manager of a multi million dollar business. Now 2 times in my life I got a loan from my father. 1 at 16. I wanted a specific car and didnt have enough cash. Made payments till it every penny was paid back. Worse loan ever. I swore to never do that again. Then at 30ish bought my white freightliner on a Sunday, Dad had the cash. Tuesday am I handed him a check for the full amount. So if that counts 2 times. But not long before Dad passed he asked if I thought he was to stern on us boys. First I thanked him, and said I wasn't bad just always seemed different than others. However the reason that it was different is because it was correct, not wrong. He went against the grain his whole life and never fell into the society acceptable. I recon I will continue it. Btw lt was one fun child hood hanging at the table of Men. They raised me to, and had every right to discipline me too.Al. Roper, 1951 ford, Slowpoke KW and 20 others Thank this. -
Oh. Sorry. I didn't mean to eavesdrop. I thought you were talking out loud to the whole group.

I knew a guy who was self employed and he talked to himself all the time. Claimed he was having a company meeting.
