Most just put it in reverse and don’t stop till it sounds expensive!
I can only imagine a universal backing signal for truckers..... and why do I say that?
Years ago when I got my CCO license (Certifed Crane Operater), I quickly found that only a % actually knew the universal crane hand signals. Talk about some cluster moments lol. With the greater % of drivers today I would imagine a lot of fights would break out from trying to be helpful.
But no, I’ve never heard of a universal hand signal for truckers.wore out, JonJon78, Woodchuck88 and 1 other person Thank this. -

I think that the millright websites have a list of documents showing the hand signals.
I got yelled at working at one foundry who was loading me with a crane, the idiot was certified but was clueless to what the hand signals are to bring the load down, he wanted me to wave at him to tell him to lower it, I told him to ******* ****** with this waving crap.tscottme and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this. -
Brettj3876 Thanks this.

In the oilfield before i have someone spot me I always ask them to go over the signals so were both clear. No mistakes that way, everyone has a similar system but it doesn't mean they're exactly the same
