    Something broke up top. I haven't got it home yet to get it apart, but it sounds like a broken wrist pin or piston in the 2nd cylinder.

    I just talked to him, and he said no issues in the valvetrain.

    For me the first time was a cracked liner on #4 and I think due to a poor rebuild the second time was due to fretting on #1 liner and blown head gasket because of low (.002) liner protrusion.

    I've heard CAT has a problem with setting the liners too deep. Does anyone know what the difference is between CAT specs & what they should really be to keep from blowing head gaskets?

    CAT spec is .001 to .006 mine is now at .006 as a few of the techs on here have said it should aways be at .005 to .006 no matter what HP,BUT never over .006 as it will damage the liners.
