August 2015 I am headed to Booneville to make a delivery. Just north of West Point a highway patrol flies past me running lights and sirens. MHP doesn't work late so I figure he is headed to a wreck. I come through Okolona on HWY 45 and see a bunch of patrol cars on the Southbound shoulder, with several cops shining their flashlights on the ground looking for something.

My second stop is in Okolona, so I ask the forklift operator what happened since its a small town and word has spread. He says the top narcotics officer was shot stopping a motorcycle on the hwy. He also says the officer is somewhat of an acquaintance and they play softball together. I look at him and said well, your friend is a liar. He asks how come?

I said first, I've never seen a single monroe deputy out here in 3 years of coming up here multiple times weekly. Second, a criminal on a motorcycle is going to run this time of night. So fews cops are out, he has a good chance of getting away. He used a motorcycle rider as the suspect so the description would be vague, you can't see the rider's face with a helmet on and it had no license plate. These lies were intentionally vague.

I said but think about this. The guy is sitting on a crotch rocket ON GRAVEL, most likely right handed. So if he is going to shoot, he is going to have to twist around and shoot across his body into blinding lights and ZERO cover. Then, he will have to work the clutch, and throttle while holding a pistol and make a speedy getaway without dumping the bike, if he isn't shot.

I said I don't know what he is lying for, maybe he accidentally shot himself. Maybe he was seeing if his vest worked or wanted to be a hero. But he is definitely lying. Meanwhile, the sheriff is on the news praising him as a fine officer, blah blah blah. I occassionally ask my friend in Okolona "does the search continue?" Joking about the shooter who will never be caught.

About a year later I get a text saying "hey you were right, he was lying." Apparently Deputy Do Right was in Nettleton at a drug house trying to extort $10,000 from some dealers to take his family to Disneyland. When they tried to reach the sheriff, all he said was he no longer works here.

So what became of the felony extortion, false crime reporting hero? He was chief of police in Hatley Miss last I heard and has never been charged criminally. That is typical of law enforcement.

I consistently do this too, along with saying Thank you. And for some reason it has been showing some results lately. Three separate times in the last year I've been handed phone numbers from attractive young gals without me asking for them. It doesn't happen all the time but I've been very surprised. I'm not the best looking Moose walking around but maybe there's something else that is attractive about me that I wasn't aware of ?
Maybe my paying closer attention to keeping that wild hair in my left eyebrow knocked back has something to do with it ?
I'm sure glad my tongue can reach it.

I-90 from PA / NY line to Syracuse, anyone know what the toll charge is for 5 axles?

Yes they were Solaris silos.

I'll say this...they do a decent job setting up these locations down here. Most of them have plenty of room.

I just so happen to be in Booneville right now. I'm going to go back through Okolona taking the scenic route. I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for that stunt riding pistol wielding motorcyle guy. I wonder how many motorcycle riders were harrassed until they found out he was lying?

Yes. I can even dance. Maybe not gracefully enough to get on Dancing with the Stars yet but I'm taking lessons from the local Fred Astaire Dance Studio, so there's still hope. Cross my knuckles for luck !

What the F##K is going on with drivers nowadays? We're 16' wide however we move over far enough that we do not encroach on the lane to our left (or right) when a truck is coming by us. The old skool kool guys get it and they will hug the left side of the lane as they go by. No, we don't want or expect you to run off on the left (or right) rumble strip and tear up your tires/equipment, we're getting paid accordingly for the extra abuse to our equipment, we'll get out of your way. Even though you won't hear it on any CB channel, our rear escorts are calling out distances between our load and passing trucks the entire time someone is along side us.

Now my soapbox ##### fest....

I cannot count the number of trucks that come by us hugging the zipper or even crossing into the lane we're occupying as they are going by. I had at least a half dozen today that once the cab was past mine they just began coming back into my lane YOU HAVE 53' OF F#####G TRAILER BEHIND YOU GENIUS!!. Do these new drivers not have a clue where the right side of their vehicle is or where the end of their trailer is at? Do they think that the only thing they need to keep in their lane is the 4 square feet directly under their ### and f##k the rest of the 548 sq ft of earth the truck they are driving occupies??

I remember being able to watch the road in front of me as a truck was overtaking me but now I cannot look at whats happening in front while being passed because I have to watch hero coming by and keep swerving away from him as he crosses into my lane and dangerously close to an oversize piece that would likely bankrupt his company if he run into it.

And then there's the very nice lady trucker that decides she needs to tell us everything we need to do for the next 25 miles. What speed to take the next curve at, where to center up for narrow clearances, how fast to run on certain stretches etc. What does she think the 4 pickups with all the lights, signs and flags are there for? Of course we only "monitor" the CB but use VHF for communication so she was talking to no one after a couple miles however 25 miles later I turned the radio back up and she was still there calling out stuff for us.

Sorry for my soapbox session, was just one of those days, couldn't get to Dundee fast enough to call it a day.
