Load is going to Campbell River, BC on Vancouver Island.
Not as unusual as you'd think
Nobody would care if I did, I've done this several times now...

There was an old guy around here named Warren, I never knew but i knew his younger brother who was born in 1922 so Warren was born before that. My father in law said that Warren worked for the railroad and told him that when they went to diesel from steam it ruined his job. He said those old steam locomotives were powerhouses compared to the diesels.

I saw something on Our Ohio that talked about a shortline railroad out around @superhauler that still runs steam. Not sure where they’re based but they were running coal into the Conesville power plant which isn’t far from him.

That's cool. Was it a good crossing?
I've heard "Ya know you're in for a rough one when they start tying your truck n trailer down as soon as they get you parked on board".
I haven't done that one yet!
    I'd sure like to.
I took the truck on the ferry to PEI years ago, they opened the bridge the next summer. I still haven't done the bridge out there yet either.

Feedman, 1951 ford, BigBob410 and 14 others Thank this.

Looks like they sold out, this was the guy. Looks like he has a museum now, I know where I’m going this summer.

Don't drop the trailer, but I dump the suspension and then set the parking brakes.
At this weight it doesn't take much rocking for the air ride to drain things, and when the trailer dynamites before the air dumps it just stresses stuff for no reason.
I always dump as soon as I park on a boat, then dynamite all.
It's an overnight crossing, so I'll sleep through it. The rocking is gentle and I sleep well.

600 miles today. Pure stupidity. I cannot see how somebody can do this day after day. 400 miles a day is plenty for me. Joplin 44 for the night

It was smooth. Been to Dartmouth NS a few times, but rode the ferry once to Newfoundland. Problem is, now you have guys that will run general freight loads that used to pay $20k for $5-6k.
