I don't mean to interfere in your Thread but isn't everyone entitled to some time of when they want????
My Significant other is a L/O and he takes 4 days every six or 8 weeks, and we intend to take of another 10 days so we can go and have a quick visit with my family in Australia sometime this year!
Kudos to you and your Husband for living in a Semi for a year![]()

Not to be rude but like are you their mom? Seriously now, what right do you have to ask them why they are taking time off, only JCT themselves should be questioning that if they chose.
Do you even own\rent a home or are you doing that save every dime method of retirement planning? That would make a difference in time off.
But wait! Thats none of my beeswax.andrew5184, Solitaire and allnite Thank this. -
I guess you didn't read the thread right. He just started JCT in November of 08. His wife takes a week off in Dec and they're suppose to be a team. Then another 3-4 days in Jan then another March and 2 weeks again in July. Sometime off? Why run at all.
And Kudos to you and your "Significant other" for being the same way. What the heck do you need all that time off for? Don't want to work? That's what I am saying. And excuse me whoever you are I was not talking to you in the first place.

What I am saying is IF you can read is why take all that time off in one year it don't make sense. And the way you and your husband like to run don't even bother with JCT. You and hubby wanting to run 3000 to 6000 miles a week. Heck we do 3500 solo. I guess to you all time off is more important than actually doing work. And if she wanted to butt in what I was saying to someone else I have the right to speak too. My husband and I choose to work not go home every time we want. In other jobs they don't allow you to take all that time off. Most jobs you would get fired. Oh and wait IROC, you say your an L/O who from England? Oh and a btw IROC, gee you asking me if I am their mom? Remember you PM'ing me and asking me is doing 4000 miles a week legal? Who are you? My husband's boss? Safety? Gee that would be pretty hard to do since you don't even run for JCT. And like you said that should be up to JCT but gee I don't you having a problem making it YOUR business as well. It's o.k. for you to do it and no one else. What are u God? So what business is it of yours what we do at JCT? We run hard for JCT because we want to not because we have to. We love JCT with our hearts. So to us taking off all that time is senseless to us. Especially since we only been with JCT for a year.

Enough of the argueing please. This is LMB's thread and we should respect him in that manner.
JCT wife,
who are you to judge on taking time off? You do not know whether it was hometime, legal matters, etc. JCT should only worry about what you would call being unproductive. Each person is different on how much time they need off.

Your choice, enjoy living in your truck...My wife took a week off in Dec. at Christmas to be with our grandaughter who is not expected to be with us next Christmas. we run 3 to 4 weeks and take 3 days off. Company says we can. I have another business running in Wilmington, and I check on it. We are taking the last week in June and the first week in July to go camping, like we do every year. If there was a problem, I don't think our DM would approve it. We just took an extra 24 in FLA to visit friends.
WEe are a team, we run twice the miles you do and make twice the money, so we take twice the time off. And by the way we will be home April 3rd for my wifes birthday for 4 days
END OF DISCUSSION
This is why we say JCT is a god company to work forandrew5184, The Challenger, hicksie and 5 others Thank this. -
Dang right my husband and I don't mind being in this truck because we know our wheels are going to keep rolling and making money while your sitting there doing nothing.

I have been thinking about switching over to JCT for some time now, but after reading these past few posts, I am reconsidering... Is the company culture really encouraging working 24/7 365 days a year as necesary in order to be succesful at JCT? For goodness sakes, u gotta have some balance in your life. Even God rested on the seventh day and I am not as strong as God. I am sorry, but if I cannot make a decent living without a few days off every month, I am gonna look elsewhere. LMB, is JCTwife accurate that solos need to run continuously to make it at JCT?
