We run 3500 miles a week, why? Because we want to it's not because we have to. I was not saying you have to run 365 days a year 24/7. This is the way we want to do it. We were asked on several occassions if we would like to take time off and we turned it down. We have been with JCT over a year and this is how we chose to do it. If we want to take a couple of days off our DM has no problem with that what so ever because we were never late on a load. In fact we make our loads on time any where between 8 and 24 hours ahead of schedule. All I am saying is when it comes to renewing the lease they look at your track record and see how you ran over the year. If they aren't satisfied with your track record you will have your lease declined. And we love JCT and don't want to see that happen. We are more than happy with our 34 hr restarts and then we go back to work.

From an outsiders point of view it sounds like everyone has their own ways of running a successful lease from JCT. Running non-stop w/o any home time is something few can do. Unless the company says otherwise, it is ok for the employees to do so.

Good companies understand the need for home time after x amount of months and usually look at how productive they are. They do not look at the negative stuff in a lease. All they care about is making money.

Thanks. I really hope this stops. I'd just like to say, I am subscribed to this thread and get excited when I see there is an update. I like JCT and am interested in leasing with them in the future.

I can't tell you how disappointed I am when I waste my time reading pointless posts about how long someone thinks people should stay out. I know my post is somewhat pointless too, and I apologize, but after reading this for the last several days, I feel entitled to second the others. To my understanding, any post made on this and other threads is intended for everyone to read and respond to, so long as the discussion remains civil, free of personal insults.

Nevertheless, I am subscribed to this thread because LMB was gracious enough to chronicle his experiences as a new hire at JCT, and I only remain subscribed to hear his updates from time to time and communicate with others who are interested in the company. I do believe that to be the reason he started this thread. I also believe he's been in the industry long enough to make good decisions.

Thanks, LMB, for all the useful info you've provided, and I hope you continue to do so.

How does JCT do payroll taxes? Do you get a W-2 at the end of the year, or are you classified a contractor and get a 1099 and have to do the quarterly taxes?

No you don't need to live in your truck. JCT want's you to run three weeks and take 3 days off. Wheather it be at home or your choice of where. If you run the miles they give you and deliver on time you will make money here. My wife and average $2600 net per week. solo drivers run between $1200 to $1500 a week net. Depending on when you start your week you can earn more. I personally do not want to make over $250,000 for the year, so the GOV can take it all. If you want to stay out here and not go home, you can, and they will keep you moving. Great company to work for, you can, and will make money at JCT.

I sincerely appologize to JCT wife for any diparaging remarks I made to hurt her feelings, and to anyone else i offended here. Since my driving habits are not up to the more experienced people here, I will no longer post any more infomation on this forum.I appologize to the Moderators also
