I've been around it, who hasn't? Tried it? Never have. I don't like the smell of it etc. Just not my thing. Believe it or not, never have done drugs.

    Chinatown Thanks this.

"Carolina trucking Academy seems to have good reviews, but they require the entire course be paid for upfront? I've read places online this is usually not a good idea? $4800 in one plop payment when you start class. Ugh!"

So is this a bad idea?

I don't think it's a bad idea. If you can pass the DOT physical, then the school tuition is money well spent; a good investment for your future. Get the physical before spending the tuition money; ask the school if you can get a physical before paying the tuition.

You’re not getting what @Chinatown is getting at. Keep your business YOUR business. If you like the occasional drink, no one needs to know. Do not volunteer any personal info. They will have their alcohol policies. No booze, no porn, no sexual fetishes, no wife and mistress or husband or buttsex or religion or anything. Understand now? Keep your business to yourself. If it doesn’t pertain to driving and work history, you do not mention it to anyone you meet in the interview and orientation.

Edit: and don’t share your business with any trainers either.

Yeah, some of those trainers will snitch on you. That makes them feel important and relevant.

That’s the stuff that I’ve seen get people sent home.

No drinking. If asked, you don’t. No porn. No knives or guns. No political preferences. The less people know about you, the better.
