No idea. I have no idea why I agreed to it either. He's an owner operator as well. Calex kept my last check stating "training cost" for fuel etc. Don't owner operators foot the bill for fuel. Sorry he's a lease purchase driver. So they got a whole week free from me. I'm beyond pissed off.

The name is kind of ironic Tommy Grimes. Because they are grimmy people.

So, you have to give a notice you are quitting, but the company doesn't have to give you notice you are terminated, or they fire you when you give a notice? that's doing the right thing? Ya grow up

The good one is the layoff when losing a dedicated contract. Because said companies (not Calex) don't want to lose all of their drivers before the account actually closes, they wait until the day before, or the last day, to tell everyone they are no longer employed. If they would give a few weeks notice, drivers would look for new jobs and quit when they got one prior to the actual last day.

Two wrongs don't make a right, but a lot of companies play "dirty pool" when it comes to broken promises and things like I pointed out above.

It's not only trucking that does this, though. Most companies want to keep the work force intact until the last day, so they don't say a word until the very end so as to prevent a mass exodus...
