I applied to Prime, anything I should know before I go?

DON'T SIGN A LEASE!!!

 

Bring the least possible of clothing, carry just essentials i.e hygiene products and money for your food while out in the road or purchase food from walmart such as bread and ham along with water. Also your phone charger and sandals to SHOWER.


Before I forget DONT SIGN A LEASE.

 

Stay out of the center and left lanes with your so so so slow truck.

 

If you do reefer at first. You’ll get in the practice to become good at backing. Reefer drivers say: Flatbed and tanker drivers don’t know how to back.

 

Prime was my first employer and I have nothing but good to say about them from a mega carrier standpoint. I had a very successful 9 month lease with them after spending a year as a company driver. They do not push it at all and let the lease drivers basically sell it to everyone with their inflated egos. I can't emphasise enough to not go lease for a minimum of 6 months though. Im guessing nothing's changed in 5 years. Good luck!

 

If you do go reefer first it may take some time to get over to flatbed. If you don't get flatbed don't be bummed as you're getting much lengthier training than other carriers. You'll be thankful for that later.
