I've not yet experienced driver training, but I'd imagine if you're a Veteran that made it through Basic Training (even our 'Chair Force' basic training), it should be a cake walk. At least you won't have a TI coming in the middle of the night banging on the door, raising hell while banging on a trash can ! LMAO !
The only real problem for me (I think) would be a Trainer with bad hygiene and poor people skills. aka.... a mouth breather with bad breath, body odor and smells like a fuking ash tray !
How brutal is the 4-6 week training period?

The company will try and match you with a nonsmoker as far as hygiene I've yet to see one who dosen't know what a shower and toothbrush are. I trained 19 people for my last company I drove for and staying clean and wearing clean clothes was a must my truck was a peterbuilt 386 and it to was very clean it was my home on the road. Your trainer can hook you up with free showers and laundry facilities are at most truck stops. If your trainers truck is clean he'll be clean.

We used to stuff bills, papers, reciepts, tickets in particular etc down in the dash against the glass. Maybe a foot thick along the width of the windshield back when.
Followed by food wrappers etc.
Sometimes Im happy it didnt all go up in smoke what with the old carbon residue (Carbon paper, a sheet where you stuck between one to be signed and a copy to be made... many of you never seen this)... -
There first question what side goes up.

One other thing, Im not sure if they still make these or not. But some trucks used to have the old bucket ashtrays with the clamshell over it. You can have a cigar on there if you like or a pipe or several packs of ash dumped into it. If I remember right, sometimes it's a small fire in there for a while. I should see if I can find one, maybe a reproduction or something.
You learned fast not to hit a bridge with it open. Otherwise the contents will scatter all over. -

Join the Army and see how you like the living conditions in boot.
Even the Navy, which is probably the easiest.
Privacy? No.
24/7 on duty? Yes.
Lack of sleep and time to eat? Yes. (Unless you can get the right position. Assistant squad leader is ideal.)
Don't mentally visualize anything. Just do it and deal with it as it comes. -
