Okay then, the answer to my question seems to be, NO.
I don't have it in me to go cross-country, and it seems those are the only O/O's that end up with the nice paychecks......
Can you make money with a daycab, running local?

I have the phone# of the brother that quit. I will call him for more details Just out curiousity what really happen. But I think his mother illness also had him worried who just died a month ago.
pullingtrucker, 95cpm is what they pay for hauling trash? The brothers did say they had to move 24hours to make it worth while. The good thing was their was no mystery, they just worried about driving loading and unloading, and driving to the same place everyday which took part of the stress away. no 3 days waiting at a truck stops. -
The lack of stress in no reason to run for 95cpm. I would rather haul a million dollar machine and be stressed to all ends and have a big check then to be relaxed and broke. Many people think that you need to work off of quanity in trucking. They just can't grasp the concept that waiting for that good load will pay off. I perfer to go after quality. Don't get me wrong, I have been known to do quanity work to satisfy a customer. But after doing that work I was rewarded with a very, very, very good load...say in the $6 per mile range.

How most team drivers do it anyway?
5, 6 hours driving, 5,6 hours resting. I never did teams accept when I was witha trainer about 7 years ago. I know I cannot sleep in a moving truck for 8 hours. -

You might want to check with some local companies that run straight trucks with roll off dumpsters. I know of a guy who bought a new roll off truck for 60,000 and leased on with a company hauling city trash and he says he's making good money. He wouldn't be any more specific on the numbers.
