We carried two snaps in each wrecker only to cinch wreckage together. Other than that it darn sure better had a ratchet. Now you are legally required to chain steer axle to wheel lift. This sucks and will not as tight as two 3" or 4" short straps and ratchet over axle. Not legal but its safer, Just dont put ratches on bottom of something sitting low and expect them to be there after a dip in a parking lot with a drain. Can you tell I learned the hard way!

No more straps?! I used to use 2 short straps and then the 2 safety chains. That's no good anymore?

 

Fluid film. Best I ever found for it. Repels water, works great in cold temps. One can goes a long fricken way. Keep them spinning free you will forget what a snap binder is.

 

Whenever we got the crane set up the next thing on the oilers list after getting the coffee was oiling the binders. Always kept a coffee can full of oil and a paint brush. Spray cans never seemed to survive.

 

It was a loaded car hauler why it was low, I bet I towed a few hundred car haulers when I worked there. Thats a different thing right there! Never low bridged one.

 

That’s because you don’t use them every day.

 

Tow operators always give me a dirty look when they pull up to a loaded car carrier that's already 13'6"ish...

 

Well I guess I screwed around enough this morning. Heading over to Dundalk to grab 9 going to Anderson then Greer. We'll catch up with y'all later..speed safely!!
