    Hello everyone,
I am looking to buy a new engine for my truck. The current one was a 2014 Cummins ISX15 with 400hp.

Would i be able to buy an engine with a different year? How about one with 500hp?

    Thank you.

You would want to get a engine close to what you have especially with emissions and electronics. You can put a higher h.p engine in but may need a reflashing but not sure. Most of the differences in ratings are achieved electronically anyway with today's engines. A good shop can answer your questions best based on your trucks specific configuration. 400HP IS DEFINITELY A FLAT LAND tractor. Good luck.

I am looking at a 2014 Pete with isx15 500hp. It has 200k miles. Should i find something different? After the reading i have done today i am havind second thoughts! What happened to yours and how many miles? Constant problems?

200,000 miles is low. Does it still have Cummins warranty? If so I would make sure it had updated fuel pump, sensors, and possibly a rebuild or maybe it's a reman engine with the updated anti polish ring inserts, and wider cam bearings?

It has 201k original. Loaded 388 heavy spec. I am a lil scared of this engine. Has the Bosch pump issue like powerstroke Ford but worse! I have read in multiple place that the pump can actually trash not only the entire fuel system but the engine block as well. I have four roll off trucks located. I need one asap. An 04 C12 , the 14 isx15 cm2350, an 05 granite with AMI335 and an 06 Granite with AI350. All are low mile or have reman engines. The isx15 was my choice till today. So many possible catastrophic failure possibilities i have read on. Wow! I wish i could find another engine to consider. If i had time and losing my client wasn’t an issue i would build the truck i need with a 6NZ. If i am wrong please tell me. There will be issues with any but some seem to be risky!

Do you need a newer truck? Plenty of old b model or E model trucks but big cam trucks are very simple.

200K for a '14 seems awfully low miles. How many engine hours?

My '12 ISX is still going. Just about to clock 650K.

Need a roll off ready to go. Wish i had more time. I would build one for sure. It’s just gonna take longer than i have.
