    DO NOT USE CONVOY!!
They will not pay for detention time unless driver downloads their app on the phone. Even if you have IN/OUT times listed on the BOL and Convoy ops team send you e-mails confirming these IN/OUT times.
I have been a carrier sales team manager for seven years and now i own my own trucking and freight brokerage company. Taking care of your driver and carrier for their time is crucial for building relationships and growing a book of business. I guess Convoy is thinking only short term.

You should pick up your riders and tell them theres a $10 surcharge in effect, paid in cash.

Uber Freight lacks long haul loads. They focus mostly on loads within 300 miles of the shipper. The little long haul loads I have seen don’t pay higher than CH Robinson, and if they do, that load will be gone in minutes. Booking a load is fast with them, as no calls need to be made. All the info is on the app. I have only booked one load with them that was paying almost $3 a mile on a 1,000-mile load.

CH Robinson has lots of long haul freight, but they lack reefer loads. If you haul dry freight, it’s a good place to start. I am still new as a motor carrier, but it seems likely that CH Robinson and Uber Freight is mostly used by new motor carriers as their requirements to sign up are low. Other brokers have higher requirements. For example, 6 months with MC#. New motor carriers are likely bringing down the rates in Uber Freight, CH Robinson, and the like.

So what's wrong with downloading an app on your phone? I'm an O/O and have no drivers and am happy to download whatever I need to to get the good paying loads that fit my lanes and schedule. If I need to delete later, fine.

I'd like to hear more about Convoy. Is that your only problem with them?

    TIA

You sound like a broker who is losing a lot of business to Convoy. I use Convoy a lot. The app on your phone is how you book loads, so why wouldn't you download it? I've gotten detention from them without any problems. It's not like downloading a tracking app for a broker and they still ##### call you a dozen times to see where you are. Face it, Convoy makes life a lot easier for everybody, except brokers.

I see that you are also a new brokerage that was recently looking to buy a well used MC number to make your business appear older than it actually is. Nice way to start a business, by decieving your clients.

Truth. Won't call the broker out but I hauled a load going 607 miles with 34 hours to deliver the other day and received 11 check calls. With their app installed. Drive's me nuts.

Convoy is good. About 20-25% of the loads my guys book are through convoy. Getting detention, help with a customer, and paid within 24-48 hours is the best part I like about convoy. Sometimes it's hard to find a load in a market, but you run them enough you learn where their freight base is. The funny part is, the areas convoy doesn't have freight, that's usually the area Uber has freight.

My guys use load boards a lot as well uber and convoy. They are happy with the options they have available to them.

Convoys great alright, they just screwed me out of $125.00 detention, sat in a dock for 11.5 hrs, they claim their gps shows I left several times in that time, so as usual the drivers a liar , I asked them if their gps is so smart tell me where I went, no answer, no more Convoy.
