Gyms at truck stops, do they have them?

    Bodybuilder here, getting into trucking, read my prior threads on this. There is a lot we can do with a highly creative mind and the right equipment. Portable break down stands, adjustable bench that folds down, dumbbells like the ones you mention, and olympic weight set, bar and curl bar. Pull downs or a puller enough to get in like rows and lat pull downs will be the limitations.

    Plan for a gym stop like once per week. That is realistic OTR. You won;t be hitting the gym every night. But it the setup above, you can still build and get and keep n shape. I am a serious bodybuilder, not some dude ho does pushups and sitsups. I lift hardcore weight and with the setup above, I'll be ok. The one day per week and your 34 hour reset are the days you hit your back and hardcore weight training.

    Just wait until going into one of them places and you find your daughter dancing, nothing tastes good anymore and it is not good to tip your daughter unless it is the get out now tip.

    With the right mindset (which you have) it sure as hell can be done. I lost over 100lbs and got myself into shape while being on the road. It’s fat lazy people who are fast to tell you it can’t be done. Bull it can be done & it has been done by many. So it’s not easy, but what is? You get it figured out driver. If you want something bad enough, you always find a way to get it.

    How would you fit an Olympic bar inside a sleeper lol? The plates would be hard to store too and they’ll slide around. I’m thinking of going with a heavy ### resistance band set and calling it a day

    Have you ever been to a truck stop in your life? Majority of truck drivers are just a bunch of big fat slobs.... LMFAO. Not to mention I wouldn't want to be doing squats in the empty space next to me, the way these people drive.... I do keep some running shoes in the truck though I'll go out for a jog occasionally. Just depends on where I stopped at for the night

    Gyms at truckstops are seldom seen anywhere other than the web sites for the truck stop chain. When the exist it's a 1 treadmill or 1 elliptical and maybe a kettle bell in the corner. Many showers are bigger than the gym.

    Sounds like you are a newb to trucking if you have to ask this. So I’m gonna day this and I feel ya becuase I’m big into lifting and been at it for 20 years. I go 6 days a week. I’m a local hauler though and go every morning at 430 or 5am. If you are going Over the road, you are going to have to change your lifestyle and lifting will not be the priority in your life anymore so you can kiss that goodbye. So choose wisely. Either otr lifestyle with mediocre equipment and makeshift equipment with no gains or no otr at all. No more meal prepping either. You may make do for awhile but in order to maintain all that, you are gonna get burnt out and give up. If your lifting lifestyle is more important thN trucking, find a new career or stay a local hauler in a trash bussiness or something

    I just bought a set of resistance bands going up to 175lbs of resistance. Resistance is resistance. I can make gains with that staying consistent, going hard, etc. I may not be able to meal prep anymore but I think I could get chicken breast and whatnot as well as boil quinoa in the truck or have baked potatoes no?
