Where is everyone #5

I've told this before but...we had a customer when I was at the dealership that brought in a 65 Skylark for service. Wanted new plugs, wires, points, condenser, cap, rotor and the carb adjusted. Them "techs" were looking at that R. O. Like it had rabies, herpes and aids and it was fixin'to bite 'em! I couldn't snatch it up fast enough! That's easy money. Found the dwell meter on the back shelf of the storage room with dust on it from 1970!! Lol! I guess they could probably Google it now but none of them, except one kid that soaked up everything, even wanted to be taught how to do any of it.

 

Only the top notch pro car hauler loads from the front!!! I ain't that guy!!

 

That’s the age we live in now.... the greater % of young adults don’t want to get dirt under their fingernails, rather push buttons.

 

Same with a lot of 4x4's. Had to put them in low lock to get up on the trailer then you were supposed to stop. Put it back in 2H and ease it out from there. Some guys were in to big of a hurry for all that nonsense and we'll that's what happened a good bit.

 

On a side note....I've been following this thread for more than a few months..and your "opinion" is well respected by me!! Your's and a few others on here really know their sheet!! I ain't gonna try and name 'em all but that's why I come here even though I ain't on a flat anymore.

 

Mostly it works this way... Big company/organization/group with deep pockets wants to make their pockets a little deeper. Turns out a law or regulation would at least make this task a bit easier. So a select group of individuals recieve "contributions", to a campaign/charity/organization, wherever it would be most beneficial for the "public good".

Next thing you know, studies appear showing how many lives will be saved by enacting the legislation or regulation the "benevolent" organization said would be so good. And if you stand opposed to this great new law, you must want children to be mercilessly slaughtered in the street, and their puppies cooked for lunch too.

 

Don't get me wrong, I'd take any GTR given the chance, but the R34 was my baby in Gran Turismo 2/3/4.

 

Truth is they attributed it to single truck o/o's and very small fleets that jumped in at the last minute that had no prior working knowledge of the system and caused them to rush and drive differently until they became comfortable with the system.

 

BG makes good stuff!! I've wondered about that Holley unit. Did you have to dial it in thru a laptop or is it stand alone?

 

I appreciate that thank you. Ya know.... if we pay less attention to the trailer and more attention to the truck, it becomes clear that “we” are dealing with the same BS and fighting the same cause.
