Anybody else notice how these huge pile ups seem to be much more frequent the past few years? Hope nobody is injured, what a mess.

You can still BUY carbon brushes for nearly anything, what if the armature had a low segment or the windings were toast? I have done all kinda stuff to get running, that is not the point I was making. In repairing a machine for normal operation using provisional repairs are not ideal. For example in many repair manuals wear limits are higher than the minimums for things like brakes where the service life is expected to last until the next inspection interval.

The motor you referenced was obsolete when you repaired it, nothing wrong with that, going forward a modern replacement could have easily been adapted. I enjoy old stuff as much as anyone, that said, there is a lot technology brings to modern life. Would you want to drive a 1950's truck daily? We can reminisces fondly of times past, most would not want be without the features we have become accustom to.

Not a big fan of where he's carrying it. Love that he is carrying just looks like a problem to draw in a situation. Not to mention it being in the blind for someone to grab. Unless I misspoke and that's his secondary..?
