I've been asking agents if it's their load or a brokered load and lots have replied that it's a CH Robinson load. They won't negotiate at all on these loads.
The times they are a changing.
This is the first week that I haven't found a load that I'm willing to pull. So I'm sitting at home until something worthwhile pops up.
I've noticed a lot of LTL Freight that the agents want moved half way across the U.S. for .70 CPM and they want it moved in two to three days, not the usual ten days that LS gives you.
With as many drivers quitting LS these days, now I know why they call themselves BROKERS.

As I mention above,anybody wants to work for landstar:either you work for free at landstar or you stay in home for free,same thing except in home for free its better.In one year period,landstar hire over 2600 new bco and probably 98% of them left all ready.Just to make sure you people got the real number 2600 peoples and they claim to have about 8500 bco(owner operators) annually.I think they work very hard to get all those people into their training classes,heheheheheheh.Another thing for you new guys to understand about landstar,when you are staying in home for a week or weeks,make sure you got money in saving account,because landstar will charge you about $130 in fees and if you are staying in home,lets say with a flat bed,make it for $300 a week or more,depends on the state your are live in,hehehehehehe.
So,make sure at the end of the each trip,lets say,after you are pulling one load from Ohio to NYC,you will pay money to the agent for miles traveled in NY state plus bridges.This must be the place to work for.How idiot I was to sign in with this losers.I hope this blogs will go to the leaders at landstar and I hope they will change their way of destroying American trucking job and destroying this country with cheap rate and lots of their loads are with ZERO PROFIT or even better MINUS PROFIT translated in English,money from home to the landstar and their agents.So this is the way to destroy a country,good job LANDSTAR.

Just a hones mistake just same thing,when I mention above about bridges in nyc,not paying money to agent for bridges,instead,you will not get reimburs for bridges.Somebody was mention Ch robbinson loads into landstar load board,yes,that is 100 percent right,exept is when agent take a load from ch robbinson and poasted into landstar board,the agent will take his cut first,ussualy 20 percent from gross then he passes the load tho landstar system and BCO.Then landstar charge the BCO 35 percent plus your weekly fees from landstar,than landstar,pays one more time their fee.Well,this is one way of landstar and their agents to destroy american trucking industries.Make your math and see the real number $1000 minus 20 percent equal $800 then from $800 make your cut of 65% an then you will see how much its for you,just about nothing,after fuel,toll,insurance,regist.,repair,truck payment,maintenance and so many other things and fees.Some time I'm wondering,how some of their BCO(owner operator)are make it on those money?Either they don't know how much is 1+1 or they don't know how much is 1+1,that it.

Hey, I have a small fleet owner with Lanstar(not a driver but a Landstar agent out of the midwest) saying I should lease on with him instead of directly to Lanstar because he can get me higher paying freight and he can keep me moving, anybody know if thats true and should I sign on with him? Since he is an agent and he claims his trucks rarely sit, I am thinking of doing it.,

I don't know if it's legal or not, but he's more than likely cheating as far as im concerned and not posting his loads but just giving them to his own trucks. I never trust an agent until I have hauled more than three loads with them. some of them are great but some of them are just like dispatchers. they'll tell you anything to get you to take their load.

I'm glad I don't have to pay my company to work! I sat home for about 2 weeks and didn't cost me a thing! -
There is a simple solution to this.....If the load doesn't cover your expenses, (bridges,tolls,maintenence,truck payments,etc. etc.) WHY take the load.

I'm not taking that load.The point is,many of other guys are taking that load.And they will be broke and me too,since I'm sitting in home with no money.Got the picture?Landstar are hire BCO tons at the time,and most of the time,new guys don't know what they are getting into.To my understanding,this blog is intended to inform other present or future guys what to expect from LS, not to blame the owner operators.For me its over because I am done with them.Maybe in may next life I will lease with this kind of companies.

I know what that LS agent is doing is (probrably) not right, but what I have been hearing from some of the guys who have been here for many years is to get a agent or two in you running area, use them exsclusivly to where they know you very well, get on their good side then when times are slow they will look out for you, I know that worked ok when I trip leased to brokers, those guye were crooked as all get out but still made ok money with them
