I checked with Thompson cat and not sure who you spoke with but I was quoted north of 190 not 160 like your saying. I stay local so once warranty is up and if the emmisions is causing problems I will deregulate it like I did my last truck. Problem solved and I saved my self a cool 45 grand.
But if spending all that extra cash for a rebuilt cat motor and trans is your thing then head on over to Memphis TN.
I love a cat and have 2 trucks I run with them but I'm not gonna bend over for one.

These are there already assembled trucks
Remember also upfront price is different from averall cost in 10 or 20 years in the long run i belive the cat might would be cheaper and pulls 10x better just because of the trans plus better mpg (if u know how to drive a CAT)Attached Files:

Lol this is cat vs Cummins
And let's be honest if anybody had there choice between a glider with a cat or a x15 truck without worrying about price what would u chose and every trucker said CAT even jake said he loved cats so that proves that the 6nz is the best engine ever made to date and the 12.7 Detroit came right behind it.I will say the x15 is the best DEF and EMISSION engine. So truly nobody can say the x15 is a better engine
So howe many gears do u drop on a hill with a x15 I know my dad said he was down to 7th on hills (10 speed company truck) and if u know much about 10 speeds the speed is in 9 and 10 and with a CAT and which I've seen this with my own eyes a cat c15 at 550 and 1850 lbft
18 speed on hills loaded to 90k (loaded heavier than the x15) only dropped down to 7h at the most unless you on a mountain the he can get back up to 8l if he wanted to.
Also he got better mpg with a cat in a 379 heavily loaded and he's getting worse mpg in a prostar or t800 (part time drivers slip seat) and lighter loaded.
I'm sorry for the English thi's phone has horrible auto correct I'm gonna go turn it of
The blue pete is hauling milk and the red prostar is hauling liquid nylon its a lighter load.Last edited by a moderator: Feb 17, 2019

@Trucker186, how many years have you been driving first hand ? Or all this second hand talk from the truck stop counter stories ?
Crude Truckin', Dave_in_AZ, wore out and 4 others Thank this. -
Riding with my dad for 5 years started when i was 5 im 12(13 in may) and my favorite engine is the c15 and 12.7 detriot but i have driven a truck before in a parking lot a 12.7 detriot 96 fld 120 classic best day of my life so far
I learned how to figure fuel mileage when i was in the truck with the c15
Truck in the profile is a fertalizer truck has a 600 hp c15 just got rebuilt had over 1 mil miles
That was last year
Plan on buying my own rig someday and learning how to fix em first the save up the cash and buy a rig rebuild the motor and then get a second rig rebuild motor again then start truckin'
Heres the milk rig with the 550
Oh and does playing a truck sim with a steering wheel and petals (clutch and a correct shifter) count and yes you do have to double clutch or u can do it without the clutch what i preferLast edited by a moderator: Feb 17, 2019
