Isn't Navteq the same engine that MS Streets & Trips uses? That could be cool, I just hope it has lane assist as well.

Are you sure it was the truck specific one? The TA's carry the non truck specific Good Year models already but I have yet to see the 500x at one. I was just at one yesterday in fact and didn't see it.

Thanks for the info! Dang this will make my choice hard if it turns out to be a decent gps for truckers. Would be hard to give up weather / construction updates and lane assist but if it does a decent job of routing it may be worth it.

There out in the truckstops now, no one bought it yet? I guess we aren't making enough as truckers to buy one. ;)

Pc Miler Navigator GPS for Trucks ($349 at TA) $299 at Seven Feathers Canyonville OR is what we use! Fabulous - no more pulling over to read Qualcomm directins or waking the co-driver up to help with LA! Plug in your truck details and its ontime, realtime GPS will follow you and tell you the next turn. We have had ours for a month and are surely spoiled. Predicts arrival times perfectly, keeps the dispatch happy. Large screen, but not overwhelming, choose from several voices. Can even find any walmart, lol.

I stopped again today at the T/A (ex15b off 80/94 in Lake Station, IN) and it (GY500x) is not for sale yet. They have the GY135 which is not the truck specific model for sale at $179 but not the 500x. If you have specifically seen the 500x please let me know where... I'll have it mailed to me if need be.

Garmin now has the Garmin Nuvi 465T which does the same. Can't speak for it from first hand experience. But, I've research it pretty thoroughly and it seems to be a big step in the right direction. There are a number of threads with info on this unit. I have a StreetPilot 7200 with truck routing, but it's of marginal use.

    No. They use TeleAtlas.
