Hi, I have a 2012 DD15. I am experiencing hard starts.. when the truck sits overnight or over 2 hours I lose all prime. I nocited I have air bubbles in my Davco filter. I took it to the shop and make sure all lines are tight and they are. They also replaced filter and fuel housing filter. I don’t have a check valve on this engine.. I’m running out of ideas Seems like it’s sucking air from somewhere and returning it back to the tanks overnight every morning I have to prime the primer to get fuel back in the system so I can start the truck has anyone ever experienced anything like this any recommendations that I can look at thank you !! I also just had an inframe done one month ago..

How is it running otherwise? Could it be an issue with the injectors/cups.

Check your fuel lines for wear or any leakage. There should be a check valve on the tank return.

I did check and no leakage what’s so ever. Do you know how I can test the system to find out where the air is coming from ?

Does it have the fuel shut off valves mounted over the transmission?

If you don’t have a check valve, did they maybe leave it off when OH? Have them check the fuel lines they disturbed while doing OH. Just guessing.

Put a fuel shutoff on the tank return and see if that helps. If you cap off the feed and put air to the return you might be able to see or hear leakage. It might be time to replace the high pressure pump but that's just a guess. Without being able to see it that's all I can do.Try putting a shut off at the tank return, if it still bleeds down then you know it's not on the return. You can then use the shutoff to pressurized the system.
