my dad's 2006 Freightliner starts jerking when it's going down the road once the engine warms up when it's cold and runs fine but once it warms up around eight miles down the road it starts jerking kind of like a surge can anyone tell me what it is we replace the throttle position sensor someone told us that might be it but it's still doing the same thing any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated thank you

What engine, does it have after treatment? A 2006 shouldn’t, but want to make sure.

Is a surge, jerk, or is it pulsing like a miss?

Is there any chance you know what the engine temp is when it starts? Or is it at 180 -200 deg a couple miles before it starts?

I’d be willing to bet it’s a fuel pressure problem not keeping sufficient fuel in your injector cavities so either your supply pump is getting weak or the pressure regulator on your return fuel line is getting weak !! It would help if you had a fuel pressure gauge ! But I’m totally assuming this is a cat !

I jerk in my Freightliner Cascadia if it's warm in the cab and I don't have the cash for an escort.

had a caterpillar on a Kenworth totally different animal kind of doing the same thing we took it to Kenworth after $5,000 of unneeded work a shade tree mechanic said it was the low pressure fuel pump and he was right. I guess I'm calling it by its right name the pickup pump whatever the proper name for it is, it was pretty inexpensive and it ran great after that.
