If I’m not mistaken, after you reach the full torque on n14’s, you can hit them with a hammer and get another partial turn on them.

Thank ya sir. Pan doesn’t have to be off. They’re easy to take out or put in with some needle nose pliers.

I may try that. The final torque is 220 plus 90 degrees.

Had a buddy that came to work for me in shop call me the name of a cat as I was torquing a N14 set of head. I stopped and said Adam have at it. On head two he stopped and said he shouldn't have said that. I was a bit bigger than his lanky butt. Next I wore him out torquing ubolts by hand. Never mentioned it again. His first couple of weeks in a truck shop vs car shop was ruff for him.

They have open top vans, most use tarps, and not a bridge to open and close them however.

Yessir. It’s one thing if ya do this stuff every day. Little different when ya spend most your time driving the truck and just wrench when it breaks. Lol.

I used to be in good shape. I swear.

I hear ya. My wife said why don’t ya just buy a new motor. I said I’d love to. But they ain’t made one of these things in 20 years. All you can get is a Cummins reman, and it’s gonna come from the same shop in Mexico that them two POS heads came from that are still sittin on the table.
