Yeah it would have. I guess that was the groaning as well. Probably the metal burning away the rubber surround of the bearing.
KB3MMX Thanks this. -
But the tow truck driver wouldn't have had to spend time pulling the drive shaft. Lol.
-
Lol. Im doing that now.

As far as oil pressure goes, look by the steering shaft. You will see two plugs on the engine block. Top plug is oil pressure sensor I think. Twist the cover off and see if oil is on the plug contact.
If so, clean it off and it will temporarily fix you're oil pressure issue. If the motor starts shutting down you can leave it unplugged and just run it while the gauge reads zero.
If that oil pressure switch is clean and dry, go to the three filter oil housing and look for the same style plug on the housing.. Same issue, same temporary fix. New switches are usually 100 bucks or less and can be switched in five mins.Last edited: Feb 21, 2019

How nice of them!!
I have a 76 yr. old friend who had Aortic valve surgery, out of work 2 months, now getting evicted from the Mechanic Shop Garage he has rented for 7 years.
People suck and Karma's a female dog.
Best of luck to you!
You NOW know the way this feels when it happens.
Value added knowledge for you, without the disaster.
I feel anything like that - and I get the coveralls out and grab everything under there
with both hands and shake it to death. You'll turn up something.Last edited: Feb 21, 2019

If your oil pressure gauge reads anything but zero with the key on/engine off, the pressure switch is bad. I've changed a hundred of them. Bad design.
rolls canardly Thanks this.
