Yeah, I just noticed where you're located. You're in a good spot to get in and out of the house. -

My pic is of the back of our sleeper and I kinda call it my lifes motto...it drives the wife nuts. Not sure where you remember it from, but usually people won't forget seeing it... I've even had a few people remember it so well they show me that I'm number 1. But that was just some mad old woman in a run down guardshack in PA.

You are correct. The only thing i have sacrificed is running to the northeast. Many guys hate it, but the rewards (profits) are so much better if you know what you are doing. I could run some longer loads in the midwest, but the rates have dropped and I don't like to run 2200+ miles in a week to make the same amount of profit. -

I give up on my own rig for now.Hell Old Dominion is paying dam good for now anyway -
It's not how much $$$$ you make, it's how you manage it. What are your expenses for the truck AND home? Got a spendy wife and kids? Are you on top of the paperwork? I've seen O/O's using credit cards to fuel, not too smart. That's 8-10 cents a gallon difference. All those chicken lights/chrome stacks/guages/fancy schmancy this and that don't make you any extra $$$. Going to a motel waiting for a load isn't too bright either. Paying for idle aire when it's 70 outside.....dumb.
bullhaulerswife and 7mouths2feed Thank this. -
I find the majority of the money seems to be in some one else`s pocket, cause it sure isn`t in mine. LOL

speaking of idle air. what's the deal on generators these days? i seen one post claiming he went the ro unds to show that it was compliant. are they a waste of money these days or what. i see honda and honeywell have some really small generators now. lightweight. 1000 watt and 2000 watt flavors. wally sells the honeywell cheapest out of anyone selling it. but it don't last as long on gas as the honda. which costs a few more peanuts. they are small enough to be packed under the bottom bunk. about the size of a laptop carrying case stuffed with a laptop. and they are both carb and epa compliant. sold in all 50 states. the 2000 watter would be perfect for running a small space heater in winter and small a/c unit in summer.
i'm looking to get back on the road if i can find someone to put me back out there. i've been local for a couple of years now. i want to pack the necessities of life without spending money for idle air and what not. and don't know if i'll have an apu. not that i would run the thing. don't want to get yelled at for over idle.
you can google. inverter generators. there are other brands but honda and honeywell and yamaha seem to come up the most.
