Dirty Diesel for me until I die. By that I mean until my 7.3 dies, which won't be any time soon. Only way I'll give that thing up is if the gooberment forces their overreaching hand and bans it from the road. When she gets tired it'll get an overhaul and I'll continue on my happy little way.

Well, I’m not a Cummins guy or an emissions guy or a fire truck guy: however, the shop across the street is owned by one fireman, and has 2 firemen working there (one full time fireman, the other is a volunteer). They work on lots of fire trucks (and ambulances) as a result from many of the surrounding towns.
According to the man who owns the place: there’s some kind of lawsuit going on because there’s plenty of fire trucks that derate and have been a couple instances of emissions related total loss fires (same as big trucks have had).
“Can ya’magine racing to a call to have your pumper truck derate to 5 mph and someone’s house burns down with them in it?”
Hard to believe they’re not exempt. Maybe depends where you are?
