Hehehe, "Jewish Pennicillin"...love it. I'm gonna use that for the rest of my life now, LOL. Not the soup, the name.

It sucks being sick on the road, especially when you have the runs. I'm on antibiotics now for a gum infection and they give me the squirts. Woke up this morning at 4 am and had to run to a porta potty in 20 degree weather. I love my job.

I just got over this years "plague", flue or whatever it was.

no fever, no appetite, slept 20 hrs a day, ( I'm the type that doesn't sleep if it's day light, no naps, except in truck, lol).

lasted about 2 weeks, pulled muscles in my rib cage and caused bad bruising from deep coughing.

    it's some nasty ####!!

haven't been sick bad in 14 yrs. luckily I'm semi retired.

Nothing like having your butt cheeks ice up to the seat of a blue room crapper and trying to avoid freezing to death.

Noro is a scorage of very large cruise ships in season for it. Boom a whole ship load under quarantine.

It's tough being sick. Do what you need to to get better.

One time spouse got sick and we laid over almost 4 days in plainview tx of all places. We had to do alot of work to try and clean the air that week, it was a constant complaint and may have had something to do with it. For her that was the first time being in meat country etc.

I remember back in the 90's I ran a fever in Elkton near Delaware line. And that cost me 4 days. Dispatch was wonderful and kept the fuel card going even though we made bupkis that week to the truck. Eventually some of that cooking got attractive again and it's good to go. The strange thing is was too sick to drive really, I was less than two hours from home. That shows how bad it can be.

I enjoyed the jewish references and the sprite and crackers is valid. What I also do is keep keopectate or loprimade on hand liquid so that if the stomach did get involved it's the fastest way to counteract the acid. But try to put something into it. Cantelopes was my thing, you can hydrate from that mass after you consume it for the water it holds and eventually the fiber or whatever inside forms enough for a good number two in it's own time once the gut processes enough water to make it.

Just remember if you run a temp at or above 103.5 at any time you are within about half a degree of seizures and less than two degrees from death as the brain just cooks then swells. This is not something you can think oh gee, Im tough it's not a fever. It will kill you just as dead. That's the time to get to the hospital there are ways you can fight a fever there.

Fever itself is not a bad thing, the body builds a fire to kill the microbes hostile to it on detection. That is why we run them. So flip it from being sick to actually on your way to getting way better. And if you trace back 12 to 30 hours where you been you will see the sources too. I usually run a fever when returning from the VA. That building has a good staff but the common areas are overrun by hundreds of sick people daily and there is no way to prevent it except not to go.

I ain't no doc, but I know how the body works when it fights sickness. A fever, is your body heating its self up to make things flow a little easier while the attackers, white blood cells, try to take care of it. My way to fight a viral sickness, cold ext, is to put on sweats, take sleep aids, drink a lot of water, climb in bed, cover yourself up with blankets. Its uncomfortable, but it works for me.

This way, you are making it easier on your body by heating yourself up, and the body just has to fight the sickness. I'll be over the sickness within the night, and ready to run.

Them blue rooms don't bother me in the least when they are a dire necessity...I've seen a golden halo glowing over many a blue room in my days...and had to back into them to boot. They've always had a special place in my heart.

Hey...as long as there's a porta potty in site; that's the key. I have done the fast penguin walk many a time headed to one. They are your friend.
