Do any of you guys ever watch or have ever watched Heavy Rescue 401? It's by the same people who did Highway Through Hell only it's in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and not Hope, BC.
For the most part I like all the companies, well Steve's Towing doesn't really seem like a good outfit they seem to not have any real customers they just chase. But the other companies like Ross , Metro, Preferred and Abraham's and Classic all seem real legit. But it's good I like it. What do you guys think?

I’ve seen it a couple of times. It’s ok I guess.motocross25 and Mike2633 Thank this.

It's like the same episode every time. I give the kid Collin some credit he's trying hard to learn the business and how to do the stuff and his dad's giving him a chance there would be a big learning curve to learning how to recover.motocross25 and mitrucker Thank this.

seen it a few times, my wife likes those shows but to me it is scripted or at least directed.

It’s funny you post this today. I was browsing Netflix last night and came across it. The camera style and the narrator gave it away instantly that it was a spin off of Highway Thru Hell so I was pretty please about that. Yea it’s pretty decent. I liked the Highway Thru Hell bunch at the beginning, but toward the end when they were following around Al Quiring is when it really got good in my opinion. That guy knows his stuff. If memory serves, I think you and I even talked about it before on what a good 2 part episode it was when they got that backhoe unburied from the muck. Anyway, another good Netflix “work documentary” is License to Drill: Louisiana. Not a trucking niche for sure, but it’s about a crew of oil riggers from Canada that come down to Louisiana to work when the oil fields in Canada are froze over, and it’s pretty good. Spoiler alert: they apparently don’t have 100 degree temps in Alberta with humidity to match. I really wish Swamp Loggers was on a streaming service that really interested me too. You know they’re in the backwoods of South Carolina when they have to use subtitles!Mike2633 Thanks this.

It's defiantly manufactured drama there's no question at all about that. It's cool though to get to see the different parts of the world though, I know a lot of it is embellished for sure.motocross25 Thanks this.

Yeah Al Quiring him and Gord I think one time parallel parked a freight train or something like that. Those two guys are real pros for sure!misterG, Brettj3876 and motocross25 Thank this.

I watched 401 for the first time last night, pretty much enjoyed it as well as H.T.H. I wondered about the time used to set the cameras in place, ect. How long does that hold the crew up, not to mention the highway? One thing, those guys are working in some unpleasant conditions.
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Gotta like these wrecker shows where ninety percent of the victims are (new Canadians)

Ive followed it a little bit myself.
I also remember the roads around Toronto as well, been there first hand. I'll preface that with one tidbit. I never go into Ontario during winter storms where possible. So the worst of it would be the regular super rush hour getting out of Toronto in the afternoon after getting unloaded. It's pretty intense.
The show is ok, but leaves out some details with which I might have a question or two. I wont say it's dumbed down but it's a little bit simplified for the greater audience who does not know what it is to run a big rig. It's difficult enough to watch those on the shows getting help because they were not prepared for the storm. You would think or expect better so that they would not be in that position to begin with. Just my two cents.Canadianhauler21 and Mike2633 Thank this.
