Hi,
Is it me or are the rates for dry van loads are now around the same if not better than for hauling cars? What’s going on with those rates on CD? I get e-mails from United Road with $40-$50 per car. Who is hauling it? CA to MA 3000 miles for an 8 car full load $5800. Huh?
I understand people are trying to make a living and taking anything they can, but have some respect for your hard work!
Finding those cars at auctions under snow or rain, loading and unloading them in hot or cold weather and to get paid under $2 a mile? Broker who keyed in that load on central is probably making more from that load for 15 min of their time.
Vent over.
Still would like to know if I am wrong.

Maybe everyone has as many cars as they need. The whole supply/demand thingy.
Jus sayin -
Brokers can list for .10 cpm and hope that some desperate scmuck will pic it up. Don’t be a desperate schuck.
Set your search at the rate that you are willing to haul, so you don’t see all the cheap crap.
What am I doing here? I don’t even haul cars. -
Problem is that there way too many schmucks out there !! Always has been-always will be .
Alicia72 Thanks this. -
I saw a F350 truck posted from PHX to North Cal for $750 COD but the broker wanted half of that. Who hauls these loads? Also cars from PHX to Riverside for $60. I'll just park my trucks until the rates go up.
Alicia72 Thanks this. -
Who hauls these loads you ask ? NOT me !!!!!!

Glad Im not the only person with a burr up his butt about this.
How about this one...5 units From Killeen TX (military move) two drops MD and NJ .22 cpm per unit. And yet some mother father sister brother will take it.
Please please please stop taking cheap freight!highwayMike, Btclt, Hammer166 and 1 other person Thank this. -
This happens every time the auction slows down. Too many trucks with too little freight equals bad rates... It's almost March, it will pick up.

Is this true @Hammer166

But it doesn't effect you if you have a customer base. Yes, your volume might drop some, but your rates are stable. We only use the board for fillers, and if they're too cheap we'll run light. The units we do book tend to be to/from areas off the beaten path and have decent rates. Just last week I had a Chicago to boofoo ND unit that paid ~$1.00/mile.
