That's genius. I might have to borrow that idea one day.
Would you say it makes unloading more difficult? or no change?Zeviander, 1951 ford, jamespmack and 11 others Thank this. -
No change bud. Unloads just as good as any hydrapak. It's a 5 gallon reservoir with the biggest hydraulic cooler I could find to fit in the toolbox. I went with 3/4" pressure, and 1 " return and it flows real well.
I think i had about $1000 altogether in parts versus a hydrapak cooler at $4000. I also like the electric fan better than the hydraulic fan on a hydrapak cooler because I can turn the electric fan off or on in the winter. The hydraulic oil warms up faster and not so much cavitation in the hydraulic pump. Seems to be easier on things. -
LOL. The offending tire is on the trailer my son hauls. About a month ago I paid the tire truck to come out to patch up the right rear outside tire. It had a slow leak and a visible nail in it, and the bead was off. I didn't have the time to deal with it, so called a truck out. I'd have changed the tires out on that axle, but they got about 6 months left on them which justified the service call. Turns out there was two nails in it, so even better.
A few weeks later I'm pre-tripping my own rig and what do I spy? A 5/16 bolt stuck through the shoulder of the very tire I saved last time. My son is off the road a couple weeks to recover from a surgery, so the truck isn't going anywhere a while. Probably this week I'll change out the 4 on that axle and by God I ain't paying for road service. I'll seat it and the trailer air will keep it round for the trip to the tire shop LOL -

Gravel in the driveway is little hard to find this time of year so it's rare to know someone here who isn't in a shop of some sort.
