Various model differences

    I know nothing about Freightliners but my search for a newer truck have led me to consider them.

    The choices and various models are overwhelming and I cant seem to find a good source comparing them.

    Columbia, Coronado, Cascadia, Century, the numbers after each one like 113,116,125,126,132 etc.

    Is there a Freightliner for dummies chart somewhere?

    I am looking for a 3-5 year old truck with at least 500hp, 13-18spd, day cab or small flat top sleeper.

    LOL.

    I hear that about them. I will only average about 10k miles a year and I plan on retiring in about 10 years. If I can get around 100k trouble free miles out of whatever I get I will be happy.

    The number is from the bumper to back of cab if it were a non sleeper. Basically it is the hood length. 113 and 116 would be short hoods. 120 is a regular length hood. 132 is a long hood Coronado or Classic.

    Coronado, Columbia and Century all use the same cab and are not current models. The Coronado is still being made for glider kits.

    If you are looking at newer one, it will be a Cascadia. It's either going to be a short hood or a regular hood. Short hood will require a small block engine, DD13 and a big block, DD15 will require the regular length hood.

    Truck paper, search glider kit trucks. Some nice Columbia 120 day cabs with 500hp Series 60 in them. Couple years old. In the $60k range. Westen Star 4900 day cabs with same engine too.. They are priced much higher. Nice trucks though..
