My trainer is from El Paso, he just picked me up in Denver. His initials are DC. Thats the best I can do.

I could've easily given them another week but I am sure after a week they would ask for another and even that I could give them. But its the principal and the fact that they tried to cheat me by adding time on to my 300. Also they tried to intimidate and threaten me. I do not care how bad the economy is, Id rather starve then be demoralized like that. And if this is a sign of what is to come then I don't want to work for them anyways. Once I process out I am going to give Eagle a call and see if they will take me. And if not them then I will look for local work. I live in northeast PA where there is a lot of freight so hopefully I can find something.

Dont give up the ship because you have a little leak my friend. Hang in there and get your truck. No matter where you go for a trucking job, nothing will be perfect. Once you get a truck (if you stay on and jump through hoops... you will feel a little different hopefully!

looks like you guys have it all just about figured out. the times are tough right now, and werner is really putting the squeeze on us. just stick out your training, and make sure you keep you sdm informed via telephone once you are done with the 300 hours. you will not get a truck right away, but you will get one.

    update....

I was assigned a truck which I am going to pickup today. Others who became qualified at the same time I did got sent home. They were from florida where there is not freight so I guess getting a truck has a lot to do with where you live.

As for the cpm... from what I understand its .26 for 48 state and .20 for regional. Im pretty sure that is the lowest pay in all of trucking. They get the 35 cpm figure when they add all the bonus' which I believe come at the end of the year if you make the cut.

Congratulations! What terminal were you assigned a truck from? What truck were you assigned?

I too was assigned a truck today... FINALLY! I got a T600 which I wanted but no APU. I have to go and make a recovery on it though.

I was actually assigned a new T600 with an APU yesterday but had it taken back because who-knows-why.:biggrin_25516:

Just got home from training. Took 7 weeks and learned alot. I could probably write a book about it, but I'll keep it short. First, SDMs are worthless. I contacted my first SDM after 3 weeks and told her I needed to get home to deal with a serious family problem. Never heard back from her. So I called back to see what was going on only to learn she was no longer with the company. I was given a new SDM and I told him about the situation. He really could have cared less. Needless to say, I never got home. My trainer was ok, but nothing great. We showered once every 8 to 10 days which was actually pretty disgusting. When my 300 hours were up, they wanted me to stay on the truck, but knowing my trainer was going on home time for a week, I told them absolutely not. Got dropped at the springfield terminal early sunday morning only to find out that if you want a smoking room you now have to pay for it out of your own pocket. Went to terminal yesterday morning to test out. Trainer didn't fill out all the paperwork correctly, so they said they would have to track him down and get it corrected before I could be certified. I told them I was going home (the problem I had at home didn't just magically go away) and they could call me to finish the paperwork when they found my trainer. Recieved a call about 6 hours later saying that they wanted to finish my paperwork, but they didn't know where I was. Communication is something that Werner really needs to work on. Anyway, I'm in no hurry, I was told no trucks are available and also no routes. As far as pay goes, when I started, I was told 34 cpm. Then, while talking to other werner drivers on the road, I found out the real pay scales. I never would have taken this job had I known its was only 26 cpm. I'll give more info later.
