I was curious what you all think is the better club for truckers ? It seems Anytime Fitness has the most locations and are more in city areas whereas Planet Fitness is #2 in terms of locations but has more suburban/rural locations with larger parking lots that sometimes allow truck parking.

As a bodybuilder going into trucking and having extensively researched this topic, anytime would be your best bet. The issue is not just the number of locations, but not having a place to park to hit these gyms. You'll be out there driving by them all day long, but you can't park. I suppose you could try and risk getting cited, or towed, etc. The way is has to be done is still parking at truck stops and using uber. But that adds up quickly. So for me? I plan to makeshift a mobile gym of sorts that I drag out. All in one dumbbells and a versatile bench and then an olympic weight set with barbell and a pair of stands so I can use the bench and barbell and do full benches etc. Then 1-2 times per week, hit an anytime when there is parking within walking distance. Not the best of the best, but better than losing all my muscle and turning into a 400 pound slob.

I belong to Planet Fitness. There are 2 on my lane. Frequently I have dropped my trailer at Iowa80 and bobtailed over to Davenport. I have also gone to the one in marshalltown.

Unless you get a dedicated route where u can access one of these gyms on a regular with ease you might be better off packing your own gym equipment, and also don’t forget about a healthy diet as well!

Exactly on the mark. You can by far lesson the training load with a clean diet. Hard to do on the road, but if you plan, go shopping, get a fridge and few ways to cook and prepare meals in your rig, it can be done. Load up on foods and you won't be tempted to eat the buffets and truck stop foods. Put some head phones on, drag out your equipment and go for it. LOL.

Yup. I love going to the gym, I went from working at sysco during the day to hauling milk and mostly sitting on my butt at night and eating a night so I had to change my diet big time and use my free time hitting the gym. Diet is a huge factor in trying to stay healthy especially on the road. Plus OTR you will save so much money prepping your own meals.

I am a member of both and anytime is better bu far. Small towns will have an anytime long before they get a planet. planet fitness has limited free weights and no squat racks either

Also, there are times when I cant find parking but more times than not it isnt even a problem. There are even anytimes that I will stay at overnight without an issue

Yeah so bring some weights, pack healthy lunches and make up your own exercises. Like if it’s safe park in the back of the lot, walk around the rig so many times etc etc.
